Community Guidelines, Prohibited Listings & Safety Center

Lucy's Listings Community Guidelines, Prohibited Listings Policy, and Safety Center Effective Date: August 2, 2026 Last Updated: August 2, 2026

1. Introduction

Lucy's Listings is a community marketplace where users may post, discover, and respond to lawful listings for goods, services, housing, rentals, subleases, roommates, and other opportunities. Lucy's Listings is operated by CampusBulletins and is referred to in this policy as “Lucy's Listings,” “we,” “us,” or “our.” These Community Guidelines, Prohibited Listings Policy, and Safety Center rules collectively form the “Community Policy.” They apply to:

Any other activity conducted through Lucy's Listings. This Community Policy supplements our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. If there is a conflict, the Terms of Service will control unless we expressly state otherwise. By accessing or using Lucy's Listings, you agree to follow this Community Policy.

2. Our Community Principles

Lucy's Listings is built around five principles:

A. Be Honest

Describe listings, prices, conditions, fees, availability, authority, and transaction terms accurately.

B. Be Respectful

Treat other users with dignity. Harassment, threats, discrimination, exploitation, and abusive conduct are not permitted.

C. Be Lawful

Only post or pursue listings and transactions that comply with applicable federal, state, local, campus, licensing, contractual, and other legal requirements.

D. Be Safe

Take reasonable precautions before sending money, sharing personal information, entering a property, meeting another user, or transferring an item.

E. Be Accountable

Users are responsible for their listings, communications, agreements, payments, conduct, and interactions with other users. Lucy's Listings may remove content or restrict activity that conflicts with these principles, even when the specific conduct is not expressly described in this policy.

3. User Responsibilities

Each user is responsible for ensuring that their activity on Lucy's Listings is accurate, authorized, lawful, and safe. You must:

Use the Service only for legitimate purposes. You may not falsely claim that Lucy's Listings has:

Agreed to resolve or insure a transaction.

4. Account and Identity Rules

Users may not:

Use the Service to obtain identity-verification codes from another person. We may request reasonable identity, ownership, contact, or listing verification. Verification is not a guarantee that a user is trustworthy, financially reliable, qualified, or safe.

5. Respectful Conduct

Users may disagree, negotiate, decline offers, or report concerns. They may not abuse, intimidate, or exploit one another. The following conduct is prohibited:

Using Lucy's Listings to pursue a personal conflict unrelated to a legitimate listing. A user may block another user at any time. Attempting to bypass a block through another account, phone number, email address, or third person is prohibited.

6. Listing Accuracy and Quality Standards

Every listing must be clear, truthful, current, and placed in an appropriate category. Listings must include, where relevant:

Any legally required disclosure. Listings may not:

Advertise a transaction the poster does not genuinely intend to complete.

7. General Prohibited Listings Rule

Users may generally post lawful listings. However, Lucy's Listings may prohibit or restrict categories that present elevated legal, safety, fraud, exploitation, privacy, or operational risks—even if an item or service may be lawful in some circumstances. A listing is prohibited when it:

Is otherwise determined by Lucy's Listings to be inappropriate for the platform. The absence of a category from this policy does not mean that it is permitted.

8. Illegal, Stolen, Counterfeit, or Fraudulent Property

The following are prohibited:

Any listing intended to conceal the source or ownership of property. Users should be prepared to provide reasonable proof of ownership when requested.

9. Weapons and Dangerous Items

Unless Lucy's Listings expressly creates an approved category and verification process, users may not list:

Any item primarily intended to seriously injure another person. Ordinary household, culinary, sporting, and work tools may be permitted when lawfully listed and not promoted for violence or unlawful use.

10. Drugs, Medication, Alcohol, Tobacco, and Controlled Substances

The following are prohibited unless expressly approved by Lucy's Listings and permitted by law:

Offers to obtain drugs or medication on another person’s behalf. Ordinary unopened food, beverages, and lawful over-the-counter consumer products may be permitted, subject to applicable health, safety, expiration, labeling, and resale requirements.

11. Hazardous, Unsafe, or Recalled Products

Users may not list:

Items that cannot be lawfully transported, stored, or transferred. Sellers must disclose known recalls, safety warnings, missing safety components, and material defects.

12. Animals, Wildlife, and Animal Products

Unless an approved category is available, users may not list:

Offers to harm, abandon, or improperly dispose of an animal. Listings for lawful pet supplies, pet-care services, or lost-and-found animals may be allowed subject to applicable rules.

13. Sexual Content and Exploitation

The following are prohibited:

Any content sexualizing a person under 18. Lucy's Listings will take reports involving minors, trafficking, coercion, or nonconsensual sexual content especially seriously and may preserve relevant information or refer matters to appropriate authorities.

14. Personal Information, Documents, and Access Credentials

Users may not list, sell, request, or distribute:

Other personal information obtained without permission. Lost identification documents should be delivered to the issuing authority, local law enforcement, or another appropriate lost-property service rather than publicly listed.

15. Digital Goods, Accounts, Software, and Technology

The following are prohibited:

Instructions or services designed to facilitate cybercrime. Legitimate used electronics and lawfully transferable software licenses may be permitted when accurately described.

16. Financial Products, Gambling, and Deceptive Opportunities

Users may not list:

Requests to use another person’s bank, payment, or identity account. Users may not use Lucy's Listings to recruit others into transactions involving unexplained money transfers, overpayments, refunds to third parties, or payment forwarding.

17. Healthcare and Medical Listings

Unless expressly approved, users may not list:

Medical equipment that cannot lawfully or safely be transferred. Lawfully transferable mobility aids, accessibility devices, and ordinary consumer health products may be permitted when accurately described and safely offered.

18. Employment, Services, and Business Opportunities

Employment and service listings must clearly identify the nature of the work, compensation, relevant qualifications, and material conditions. The following are prohibited:

Offers to fabricate resumes, transcripts, certifications, or records. Ordinary tutoring, editing, career coaching, freelance work, household services, moving assistance, and similar services may be allowed when lawful and accurately represented.

19. Academic Listings

Lucy's Listings may support legitimate educational exchanges, tutoring, textbooks, study materials, and school-related items. The following are prohibited:

Theft or misuse of university property. Tutoring, proofreading, general research assistance, and study support must not cross into misrepresentation or academic dishonesty.

20. Housing, Rentals, Subleases, and Roommates

Housing listings require heightened accuracy, authorization, fairness, and safety.

A. Authority to List

A user posting housing must have the legal authority to advertise the property, room, bed space, lease, or sublease. The poster must disclose whether they are:

Another authorized representative. Users may not falsely claim ownership or permission.

B. Required Housing Information

Housing listings should accurately disclose:

Any material eligibility condition permitted by law. Mandatory fees may not be concealed until after a user applies or pays.

C. Prohibited Housing Listings

Users may not post:

Discriminatory housing advertisements.

D. Fair Housing and Nondiscrimination

Housing listings and communications may not express, imply, or apply an unlawful preference, limitation, exclusion, or discrimination based on:

Any other characteristic protected by applicable law. Lucy's Listings may enforce a broader nondiscrimination standard than the minimum required by law. Examples of language that may violate this policy include:

Language discouraging a protected group from applying. Describing a property is generally preferable to describing the type of person desired. For example, users may describe:

Proximity to services. Shared-housing and roommate situations can involve fact-specific legal rules. Users must not assume that an exception applies and remain responsible for obtaining appropriate legal guidance.

E. Housing Recommendation and Search Rules

Users may not manipulate housing categories, keywords, locations, or targeting tools to hide housing opportunities from protected groups. Lucy's Listings may restrict personalized housing recommendations, targeting, or filtering where necessary to reduce discrimination risk.

21. Intellectual Property

Users may not post content that infringes another person’s:

Other intellectual-property rights. Prohibited listings include:

Content copied from another listing without permission. A user should post only photographs and descriptions they created or are authorized to use.

22. Spam, Manipulation, and Platform Abuse

Users may not:

Use the Service primarily to advertise unrelated websites.

23. Off-Platform Conduct

Lucy's Listings may take action based on conduct occurring outside the Service when the conduct:

Misuses information obtained through Lucy's Listings. Moving a conversation to text message, email, or another service does not eliminate a user’s responsibility to follow this Community Policy.

24. Reviews and Ratings

If reviews or ratings are offered, users may post only honest feedback based on a genuine interaction. Users may not:

Use a review to harass another person. Lucy's Listings may remove reviews that are fraudulent, irrelevant, abusive, retaliatory, or inconsistent with this policy.

25. Reporting a Listing, Message, or User

Users should report suspected:

Other policy violations. Where available, use the Report option on the relevant listing, account, or message. Reports may also be sent to:

Subject line: Community Safety Report A useful report should include:

Whether law enforcement or another authority has been contacted. Do not submit false, fabricated, retaliatory, or misleading reports.

26. Emergencies and Immediate Danger

Lucy's Listings is not an emergency-response service. If someone is in immediate danger, contact emergency services or local law enforcement rather than waiting for Lucy's Listings to respond. Do not use platform messaging to negotiate with a person making credible threats. Where safe to do so:

Notify a trusted person.

27. How We Review Reports

Lucy's Listings may review:

Other reasonably relevant information. We may use human review, automated systems, or both. Lucy's Listings is not required to disclose:

Detailed reasons that would enable users to evade enforcement. Submitting a report does not guarantee a particular result.

28. Enforcement

Depending on the nature, severity, frequency, and context of conduct, Lucy's Listings may:

Refer suspected unlawful activity to appropriate authorities. Lucy's Listings may act without prior notice when necessary to protect users, preserve evidence, prevent fraud, comply with law, or reduce immediate risk.

29. Factors Considered During Enforcement

We may consider:

Potential impact on the Lucy's Listings community. Different cases may result in different outcomes based on their circumstances.

30. Appeals

A user may appeal certain account suspensions, permanent bans, or listing removals by emailing:

Use the subject line:

The appeal should include:

Any corrective action already taken. Appeals must be truthful and submitted in good faith. Lucy's Listings may decline to consider:

Appeals that provide no relevant new information. An appeal does not automatically restore an account or listing. Lucy's Listings Safety Center

31. Important Safety Notice

Lucy's Listings connects users but does not ordinarily inspect items, properties, users, payments, meetups, or agreements. You are responsible for evaluating:

Whether to proceed. A visible profile, university email address, phone number, identification document, or apparently professional listing does not guarantee that a person or offer is legitimate.

32. Common Scam Warning Signs

Be cautious when someone:

Discourages you from independently verifying the offer. One warning sign does not always establish fraud, but multiple warning signs should be treated seriously.

33. Buyer Safety

Before purchasing an item:

Decline the transaction when the seller’s story or identity cannot be reasonably verified. For expensive items, consider meeting at a bank, police-station exchange area, authorized dealer, repair shop, or another location where authenticity or condition can be checked.

34. Seller Safety

Before transferring an item:

Avoid sharing your home address when a safer meeting location is practical.

35. Payment Safety

Lucy's Listings does not guarantee or insure user payments unless a separate feature expressly states otherwise. Safer practices include:

Stop communicating when someone instructs you to mislead a bank or payment provider. A payment notification may be fabricated. Confirm the transaction directly in your account.

36. Fake Check and Overpayment Scams

A common scam involves a buyer sending a check for more than the agreed price and asking the seller to:

Transfer money to another person. Funds may appear temporarily available before the check is identified as fraudulent. The user who deposited the check may remain responsible for money sent out. Do not send money back to an unknown buyer based on a check overpayment.

37. Verification-Code Scams

Never provide another user with a verification code sent to your phone, email address, or authentication application. A person may claim that the code is needed to:

Prove ownership. The code may actually permit the person to access an account or create an account linked to your phone number. Lucy's Listings will not ask you to send an account password or one-time login code to another user.

38. Meetup and Pickup Safety

When meeting another user:

Contact emergency services when there is immediate danger. Do not meet in an isolated parking lot, vacant property, hotel room, or unfamiliar private location merely because another user insists.

39. Shipping and Delivery Safety

When shipping:

Do not participate in jobs involving unexplained package forwarding. Buyers should review tracking information independently and should not rely on links sent through suspicious messages.

40. Housing and Rental Safety

Before paying an application fee, deposit, or rent:

Avoid paying before reasonable verification is complete. Housing Warning Signs Be cautious when:

The advertiser promises to mail keys after receiving money. Do not rely solely on keys, identification photographs, or a lease document supplied by the advertiser. Those materials can also be copied or fabricated.

41. Roommate Safety

Before agreeing to live with another person:

Trust your judgment when a situation feels coercive or unsafe. Lucy's Listings does not conduct background checks unless a specific feature expressly states otherwise.

42. Personal Information Safety

Do not publicly post:

Information that could enable identity theft. Share only the minimum information reasonably necessary for the transaction. Be especially careful when a user says sensitive information is urgently required to:

Avoid account suspension.

43. Account Security

Protect your Lucy's Listings account by:

Changing credentials when compromise is suspected. Lucy's Listings representatives will not ask you to disclose your full password.

44. Harassment and Personal Safety

When another user becomes threatening or abusive:

Contact emergency services if there is immediate danger. Do not agree to meet someone to “settle” a dispute.

45. What to Do After Suspected Fraud

Act quickly when you believe you have been scammed. Consider:

Reporting fraud to appropriate consumer-protection agencies. Do not send additional money because the person promises to refund the original loss.

46. Safety Limitations

Lucy's Listings may provide reporting, moderation, education, or account controls, but we cannot guarantee that:

Another user will comply with this Community Policy. Users remain responsible for evaluating risk and deciding whether to proceed.

47. Changes to This Policy

Lucy's Listings may update this Community Policy as:

Community needs change. Material updates may be communicated through the Service, email, account notification, or another reasonable method. The “Last Updated” date identifies the most recent revision.

48. Contact Information

Questions, safety reports, policy concerns, and appeals may be directed to:

For reports, use the subject line:

For appeals, use: contact@lucyslistings.com Community Policy Appeal Lucy's Listings is not an emergency-response service. Contact emergency services when someone is in immediate danger.

Academic Integrity and Campus Community Standards

Lucy's Listings may be used for legitimate campus-related exchanges, including textbooks, furniture, tutoring, study groups, housing, transportation, event tickets, student services, and other lawful opportunities. Users must comply with applicable university, college, school, student-conduct, academic-integrity, housing, employment, laboratory, information-security, and campus-safety rules. Lucy's Listings does not authorize conduct merely because a listing appears on the platform. Users remain responsible for determining whether a listing or transaction is permitted by their institution.

A. Academic Honesty

Users may offer legitimate tutoring, mentoring, proofreading, study support, technical assistance, and educational materials when those services do not involve deception or misrepresentation. The following are prohibited:

Advertising services designed to violate an institution’s academic-integrity policy. A service described as “tutoring,” “editing,” “consulting,” or “study help” may still be removed when its actual purpose is to help another person misrepresent work as their own.

B. Permitted Academic Support

Subject to institutional rules, users may generally offer:

Assistance expressly permitted by an instructor or institution. Academic-support providers should explain concepts and help users develop their own work rather than producing work for submission. When an assignment’s permitted level of assistance is unclear, users should consult the instructor or institution before proceeding.

C. Course Materials and Intellectual Property

Users may not post, sell, distribute, or request course materials when doing so violates copyright, institutional rules, contractual restrictions, or an instructor’s rights. Prohibited materials may include:

Materials obtained through unauthorized access to institutional systems. Users may ordinarily resell lawfully owned physical textbooks, unopened access codes, and other transferable educational materials when accurately described.

D. Research Integrity and Laboratory Safety

Users may not use Lucy's Listings to facilitate:

Misrepresentation of authorship, contribution, credentials, or institutional approval. Listings involving research participation should accurately identify the responsible researcher or institution, describe compensation and eligibility truthfully, and obtain all required approvals before publication. Lucy's Listings may request evidence of institutional authorization before permitting a research-recruitment listing.

E. Student Identification, Credentials, and Campus Access

Users may not list, sell, rent, loan, request, or transfer:

Any campus credential whose transfer is prohibited. Users may not use another person’s identity, enrollment status, disability accommodation, meal plan, parking privilege, or institutional account. Lost campus credentials should be returned to the institution’s designated office, campus police, or lost-and-found service rather than publicly listed.

F. University Property and Resources

Users may not sell, rent, remove, or transfer university or campus property without authorization. This includes:

Items marked as university, government, grant-funded, leased, or otherwise restricted property. Items discarded, abandoned, or placed near campus facilities should not be assumed to be free for removal. Users are responsible for confirming lawful ownership before listing them.

G. Campus Housing and Roommates

Campus-related housing listings must comply with the housing requirements in this Community Policy and any applicable:

Local housing law. Users may not:

Use housing listings to exploit students unfamiliar with the local market. Housing listings should disclose whether university, landlord, or property-management approval is required.

H. Campus Employment, Internships, and Volunteer Opportunities

Campus employment and internship listings must be genuine, accurately described, and posted by a person authorized to recruit. Listings must clearly disclose, where relevant:

Any material costs or conditions. The following are prohibited:

Opportunities requiring applicants to pay unexplained application, training, equipment, or processing fees. International students and other users subject to work restrictions are responsible for confirming that employment is authorized before accepting work. A listing on Lucy's Listings is not confirmation that a job satisfies immigration, financial-aid, scholarship, or institutional requirements.

I. Scholarships, Financial Aid, and Tuition Scams

Users may not advertise:

Offers to falsify income, enrollment, residency, or eligibility information. Legitimate scholarships and grants should identify the sponsoring organization, eligibility criteria, application deadline, selection process, and any fees.

J. Student Organizations, Fundraising, and Events

Listings for student organizations, campus events, fundraisers, petitions, or volunteer activities must accurately identify the organizer and any institutional affiliation. Users may not:

Use Lucy's Listings to evade campus event, fundraising, or solicitation rules. Listings should disclose when an event is unofficial or not sponsored by the institution.

K. Hazing, Exploitation, and Coercive Conduct

Lucy's Listings may not be used to organize, promote, recruit for, or conceal hazing. Prohibited conduct includes requiring or encouraging another person to:

Conceal harmful conduct as a condition of membership, housing, employment, athletics, or social acceptance. Consent does not necessarily make hazing acceptable under this policy.

L. Alcohol, Drugs, and Age-Restricted Activity

Users may not use Lucy's Listings to:

Coordinate transportation for the purpose of facilitating unlawful activity. Campus events involving lawful alcohol service remain subject to applicable licensing, age-verification, institutional, and local requirements.

M. Transportation, Parking, and Rides

Users may offer lawful ridesharing, transportation, moving assistance, or parking arrangements when permitted by applicable law and institutional rules. Users may not:

Pressure riders or drivers to share unnecessary personal information. Users should confirm pickup details, driver and vehicle information, payment expectations, and safety arrangements before traveling.

N. Campus Tickets and Admission

Users may list lawfully transferable tickets for campus events when permitted by the event organizer. Listings must accurately disclose:

Whether student identification is required. Users may not list:

Tickets whose conditions are intentionally concealed.

O. Campus Safety, Threats, and Weapons

Users may not use Lucy's Listings to:

Encourage self-harm, assault, or destruction of property. Credible threats or immediate danger should be reported to emergency services or campus law enforcement rather than only to Lucy's Listings.

P. Discrimination and Equal Participation

Campus-related listings and communications may not unlawfully discriminate based on a protected characteristic. Users may not exclude, harass, discourage, or target individuals based on characteristics protected by applicable law or Lucy's Listings policy, including:

Any other legally protected characteristic. Requirements based on genuine program eligibility, academic prerequisites, institutional rules, or lawful affinity-group purposes must be described accurately and applied consistently.

Q. Accessibility and Accommodations

Users must not:

Publicly disclose another person’s disability or medical information without permission. Users posting events, housing, transportation, or services are encouraged to describe relevant accessibility features accurately.

R. Privacy, Recording, and Student Information

Users may not secretly record, photograph, track, or publish another person when doing so violates law, institutional policy, or a reasonable expectation of privacy. Prohibited conduct includes:

Collecting personal information under false pretenses. Users should avoid posting precise schedules, room numbers, identification documents, or other information that may create a safety or identity-theft risk.

S. Institutional Names, Logos, and Affiliation

Users may refer factually to a university or campus when relevant to a listing, but may not falsely suggest that the institution sponsors, approves, operates, or guarantees the listing. Users may not:

Use an institution’s name to make a scam appear credible. Lucy's Listings is an independent platform unless a specific written partnership states otherwise.

T. Campus Solicitation and Physical Posting Rules

A listing on Lucy's Listings does not grant permission to:

Use university equipment. Users must obtain any required campus permission before conducting related in-person activity.

Lucy's Listings may remove content, restrict accounts, preserve records, or refer matters to an institution or appropriate authority when we reasonably believe a user has engaged in:

Another substantial campus-safety or integrity violation. Lucy's Listings does not decide academic discipline, student-conduct cases, grades, employment status, or institutional sanctions. Users may be subject separately to Lucy's Listings enforcement, institutional discipline, civil liability, or criminal investigation.

Campus-related violations may be reported through the listing, profile, or message reporting feature or by emailing:

Use the subject line:

A report should include, where available:

Whether the matter has been reported to the institution or law enforcement.
